Why not, you can download television programs anyway.

Heh. And Netflix.

Yes! What's on there that you can't download or Netflix?

The only reason I have cable is because I'm obsessed with hockey.

Yeah... I've suspended my netflix, though I might start it up at a lesser level after cancelling cable.

I'm just sick of the MASSIVE amount of passive entertainment I have in my life.

Hahaha, how did I know you'd be on board with the whole "Kill the TV" thing? ;)

Hey, I am not down with killing television. Without television I couldn't play video games or watch DVDs. Cable is just useless now that we have a magical thing called intarwebs.

Probably. Though it is sometimes (depending on promotion and area) cheaper (if you have Cable Internet) to get both cable TV and Cable Internet than just Cable Internet.

Between Netflix, iTunes (or whatever you prefer), you can get basically every TV show (albeit a few months later) without insulting and insipid advertising.

Plus, you can view things entirely at your own leisure and no longer be at the whim of cable scheduling. So instead of orienting your life around the TV shows you must must see, you can use them to fill in gaps of downtime where you can't seem to find anything else to do. That is assuming you schedule your time around TV at all, which may or may not be the case.

It'll make my cable internet cost $10 more. But I pay about $50 for cable, so it still makes financial sense to ditch it.

I always figure life is passing me by when I spend it in front of the tube. I understand why one might decide to cancel cable :)

Yeah, it's a timesink and expense that I don't need.

Yeah, but you have a habit of cheating. Like saying "Is 'ne' a word?"
